Farmington Hills police are asking for the public's help to find a missing 79-year-old resident who has dementia.

Howard Koss left home near 13 Mile and Haggerty at 7 a.m. Dec. 6 with his two dogs. He later called his family and was confused about how to get home, though he thought he was still in the general area, according to police.

Police discovered that he made a purchase at a gas station near 10 Mile and Novi roads at 8:15 p.m. Dec. 6, but that was the last documented contact with him.

He is white, maybe not quite 6 feet tall, weighs 140 pounds and has gray hair. He was wearing a white sweat suit, black vest, blue jeans and white Velcro athletic shoes. His vehicle is a black 1999 Lincoln Continental with a black cloth roof and the license plate CKV4312.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Farmington Hills police at (248) 871-2610.
