Family pets perish in condominium fire

ROCHESTER HILLS — Three pets died in a June 4 fire in the 200 block of Marquette Court, a police report states. Marquette Court is located near Drexelgate Parkway and Livernois Road.

A report of smoke and flames alerted police and fire officials to the site at around 4:41 p.m. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire except for the pets, the report states. The fire was successfully extinguished, and fire investigation officials determined the fire to have been accidental in nature.

Earlier, a multi-unit condominium was evacuated when a fire was reported at 5:43 p.m. June 2 in the 2300 block of London Bridge, near John R and Hamlin roads. No injuries were reported, and fire investigation officials determined the fire to be accidental.
