FERNDALE — Local authorities have responded to the scene of a serious crash in Ferndale involving an 18-wheeler.

Ferndale police received word at approximately 12:58 p.m. April 6 that near Eight Mile and Hilton roads, an incident had occurred between the semitrailer and a small sedan.

“We have at least three people injured that were inside that sedan,” said Ferndale Police Sgt. Janessa Danielson. “I believe two of them are serious, but we don’t have exact medical (information) on them just yet, and then one of them was less serious but I don’t know what level as well.”

The driver of the semitrailer was said to have minor abrasions, according to Danielson. As of 3 p.m., every individual who suffered injuries and needed attention had been taken to a local hospital.

Danielson stated that there aren’t enough details yet to determine how the crash occurred, as it is under investigation. Eight Mile and Hilton will be closed down for a few more hours.
