Bank robbery suspect in police custody

An alleged bank robber is in police custody following a robbery at TCF Bank on Little Mack Nov. 21.

According to a Police Department press release, the suspect allegedly robbed the bank at 9:20 a.m. with what appeared to be a handgun in the waist of his pants. The suspect entered the bank and allegedly produced a note demanding money while displaying the weapon.

The teller complied with the note and placed an unknown amount of money in a small duffel bag, which the suspect had supplied. The suspect then allegedly fled the bank. There were no injuries during the robbery.

The Roseville Police Department, Detroit Police Department and Michigan State Police worked together to find a possible suspect around Interstate 94 and Harper. After a brief vehicle pursuit and foot pursuit, police said, they took a suspect into custody.

The Macomb County FBI Gang and Violent Crime Task Force is the lead investigating agency for the incident. Roseville has a detective assigned to the task force.

Police arrested a suspect, a 27-year-old man from Detroit, though police reported that they had not recovered a weapon as of press time.
