DETROIT — A woman has been charged in connection with the arsons of three uninhabited houses in the area of Gratiot Avenue and Seven Mile Road.

Charges were announced Sept. 12 against 23-year old Keiashia Alexis Love, and she was arraigned in 36th District Court later that same day.

The first fire in question took place June 24 in the 13900 block of Eastwood Street. The Detroit Fire Department responded and put out the blaze. Investigators determined it was caused by arson.

The second fire took place Aug. 4 in the 14200 block of Saratoga Avenue, and the third fire took place Aug. 19 in the 14400 block of Linnhurst Street. Both fires were determined to be arsons. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said an investigation of the three incidents led to the arrest of the suspect.

Love was charged with three counts of third-degree arson and one count of arson — preparation to burn real property.

Her next court date is a probable cause conference scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in 36th District Court. A preliminary exam is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. She received a $15,000, 10% bond.

As of Sept. 13, Love had not been assigned a court-appointed attorney.
