Warren voters to decide mayoral, clerk, City Council candidates

Warren Weekly | Published July 19, 2019

WARREN — In the Warren Weekly’s coverage area, voters will decide during the Aug. 6 primary election which candidates for mayor, clerk and City Council in Warren will move on to the November general election. Two candidates will advance for each seat up for election.

Three races — treasurer, City Council District 4 and City Council District 5 — are contested by just two candidates in each race. These candidates will not appear on the primary ballot, but will be on the ballot for the general election on Nov. 5.

Candidates in contested races were asked, in 75 words or fewer, to state the top items they wish to accomplish if elected and how they would go about accomplishing them. If a candidate went over the word limit, (…) replaces the rest of the answer. (I) indicates that the candidate is an incumbent. The answers are printed verbatim, except where material is omitted due to personal attacks or items we know to be false or that are blatant misrepresentations.
