ROSEVILLE — One person died and another was hospitalized following a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle May 8.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Gratiot Avenue and Little Mack Avenue. According to police, a motorcycle with two people on it was traveling northbound on Gratiot at Little Mack and collided with a vehicle that was entering northbound Gratiot from westbound Little Mack.

“The driver of the motorcycle was an (approximately) 34-year-old male subject from Clay Township, Michigan, who was pronounced deceased shortly after the crash at an area hospital,” Mitch Berlin, the Roseville deputy chief of police, stated in an email May 9. “The female passenger on the motorcycle is being treated at an area hospital, where she is listed in serious condition. The driver of the car was not injured.”

Northbound Gratiot at Little Mack was closed for several hours as part of the investigation.

“The deceased was determined to be at fault, so there will not be anyone charged,” Berlin said in an email on May 20. “I do not have an update on the passenger at this time.”
