Man shot in Eastland Center parking lot

HARPER WOODS — Harper Woods Department of Public Safety officers are investigating a shooting at Eastland Center Oct. 21.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. According to the department, officers arrived on the scene and discovered a 40-year-old man suffering from multiple wounds in the mall’s parking lot. Police said that witnesses told them the victim appeared to know the two suspects and an altercation had taken place prior to the shooting.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. His condition was not released to the public prior to press time.

Police described both suspects as Black men in their 20s, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches in height with slim builds. They were wearing surgical masks and one wore a light gray hoodie and the other wore a black hoodie. Police believe they fled the area in a silver Chevy Malibu and drove off on eastbound Vernier Road.
