1. Reading Carnival
Nov. 5 • Clinton Township

The Reading Carnival, an event for children who are elementary school age and younger, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Macomb Intermediate School District, 44001 Garfield Road in Clinton Township. Highlights include STEM and art activities; games; a DJ; costumed characters and school mascots; and free books, cider and doughnuts. Scheduled guests are authors Amy Young and Johnathan Rand. 2. 'The Odd Couple'
Nov. 4-6 • Troy

The Ridgedale Players will perform two versions of the Neil Simon play “The Odd Couple” — one with female leads, one with male leads — Nov. 4-20. During opening weekend, the women will take center stage at 8 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday; the men will get the spotlight at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $18 for adults and $16 for seniors (60 and older), and can be purchased at ridgedaleplayers.com. The theater is located at 205 W. 3. March for veterans
Nov. 5 • Royal Oak

The Ruck 22 March will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Centennial Commons, 203 S. Troy St. in Royal Oak. During the 2.2-mile march, run or walk, participants will wear backpacks with either 22 items or 22 pounds of nonperishable food or personal items for veterans in need. All donations will be given to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154; all monies collected will go to local organizations that support veterans.The entry fee is $22 for adults and free for active and retired military members and children 10 and younger. For more information, visit romi.gov/ruck22.


4. Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids benefit
Nov. 5 • St. Clair Shores

The Sands Bash XXIII to benefit Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan in St. Clair Shores will be held from 7 p.m. to around 1 a.m. Saturday at Barrister Gardens, 24225 Harper Ave. The event is for guests 21 and older and will include a buffet dinner and live music by The Detroit All Stars. The color scheme is “red accent” and the attire is “classy/dressy” — no jeans, shorts, T-shirts or sneakers. Tickets will cost $60 at the door. 5. 'The Wizard of Oz'
Nov. 5-6 • Clinton Township

All The World’s A Stage will present "The Wizard of Oz" at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts, 44575 Garfield Road in Clinton Township. Tickets cost $14 in advance and $17 at the door. For more information, visit macombcenter.com.
