About the reporter: Maria Allard primarily covers education and human interest stories for the company and currently writes for the Warren Weekly and the Fraser-Clinton Chronicle newspapers. She is a huge Rolling Stones fan and is trying to learn to play the autoharp.

About the story: Allard's father is a World War II veteran and was very impressed when hearing Mr. Green's story. She noticed the students listening intently as Green talked about being captured.
