Several local high school bowling teams and individuals are heading to the March 2-3 state finals after advancing from various Feb. 24-26 regional competitions.
Local boys teams heading to states are St. Clair Shores Lakeview, Roseville, Farmington Harrison, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Berkley, Utica High, Dakota and Utica Stevenson; along with girls teams from East Detroit, Walled Lake Central, North Farmington, Lake Orion and Dakota.
Local Oakland County individuals who will bowl for a state title are Lake Orion’s Kate Gladstone, Casey Baryla, Kevin Yang, Mike Brumitt and Matt Marcetti; North Farmington’s Rae’ven Turner; Farmington Harrison’s Davis Vandercook; Royal Oak’s Sara Uelmen; Troy High’s Joshua Hulten; Ferndale’s Leon Lusane and Carissa Gadson; Berkley’s Amyre Tensley; Walled Lake Western’s Alex Carley and Lindsay Brown; Walled Lake Central’s Sara Abraham and Cara Krolikowski; Madison Heights Bishop Foley’s Kelley Berger; Royal Oak Shrine Catholic’s Paul Conlin; Hazel Park High’s Charles Zelechowski; Madison Height’s Bishop Foley’s Kelley Berger; and Royal Oak Shrine Catholic’s Paul Conlin.
Local Macomb County individuals headed to states are Utica’s Adam Young and Joe Mazza; Chippewa Valley’s Jeff Pietryka and Kristen Young; Eisenhower’s David Cimini; Stevenson’s Tom Kopec and Lauren Krywy; Dakota’s Mike Jachcinski, Nick Mikaelian and Marissa Solnik; Macomb L’Anse Creuse North’s Alyssa Meade, Warren De La Salle’s Frankie Clauch, East Detroit’s Ashley Smith and Samantha Cisneros; Warren Mott’s Danielle Frazho; Warren Lincoln’s BJ Brinkey and Nathan Halperin; St. Clair Shores South Lake’s Jackie Cardan and Brooke Brancato; Roseville High’s Ryan Stateler, Patrick Oakley and Jeremy Miller; Warren Woods Tower’s Mike Pagano; and Warren Fitzgerald’s Alex Nunn.
The Division 1 state final is at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek, D-2 is at Century Lanes in Waterford, D-3 is at Airport Lanes in Jackson and D-4 is at Sunnybrook Lanes in Sterling Heights.
