OU soccer teams, UDM women’s soccer wrap up seasons

Oakland University’s men’s soccer season came to a close after the Golden Grizzlies lost to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee 2-0 in the semifinals round of the Horizon League Men’s Soccer Championship Nov. 16.
Milwaukee went on to win the tournament.
The game was played in Chicago, as the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) earned hosting rights for the semifinals and championship game after posting the best Horizon League record during the regular season.
Milwaukee went on to defeat UIC to win the tournament.
Oakland (7-7-5) defeated Valparaiso 2-1 at the OU Soccer Field Nov. 12 in a quarterfinals contest, allowing the Golden Grizzlies to advance to the semifinals.
Oakland’s (10-9-2) women’s team advanced as far as the championship game before losing to Milwaukee 4-3 Nov. 10. Oakland advanced past Youngstown State and Wright State to earn a trip to the championship game.
The University of Detroit Mercy (11-8-1) women’s team also had their season end with a loss to Milwaukee, as the Titans were defeated 3-0 in a semifinals contest Nov. 8. UDM defeated Valparaiso 1-0 in a quarterfinals matchup.
Milwaukee won hosting rights for the semifinals and championship game.
UDM’s men’s team did not qualify for the Horizon League Men’s Soccer Championship.
