October 25, 2012North and South golf teams complete season with appearance in state finals

Grosse Pointe South’s golf team finished in fourth place among Division 1 teams at the state finals, which took place Oct. 19-20 at Forest Akers East, located on the campus of Michigan State University.
After shooting 343 on the first day of the finals and 334 on the second, the Blue Devils finished with a score of 677.
Tenley Shield’s score of 155 (75, 80) was the fifth best individual performance in the tournament. Teammate Lily Pendy was tied for sixth place among individuals with a score of 157 (82, 75). Both golfers made the All-Tournament team.
Hannah Buzolits, Kaitlin Dalman and Katherine Motschall round out South’s squad.
North golf wraps up season
Grosse Pointe North finished in a tie for 13th at the Division 2 state finals, which took place at the Meadows, located on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
The Norsemen shot 421 the first day and 404 the second for a final score of 825.
Madison Vens led the Norsemen after firing rounds of 106 and 94. Teammates Paige Micks, Ali Scoggin, Jenna Paglino and Jordyn Parent round out the team.
