National honor

After winning a Class B state championship, Pontiac Notre Dame has been honored on the national level, as well.

MaxPreps.com ranked the Fighting Irish No. 11 in the country, the second highest rank any team from the Midwest garnered. Mother McAuley in Chicago was ranked eighth.

Prep finished the season 62-2-1 overall. Other teams from the state ranked included Wayland Union, which Prep beat in the state semifinals, at No. 59 and the Class A state champs East Grand Rapids at No. 86.
