Local volleyball teams gearing up for postseason

Local volleyball teams will begin the 2013 Michigan High School Athletic Association state playoffs in district play.

Warren Regina and Warren Woods Tower will meet in a Class A district quarterfinal set for 7 p.m. Nov. 4. The winner gets Warren Cousino, which received a bye through the district quarterfinals, in a semi set for 7 p.m. Nov. 6. Warren Mott is also a part of the same district and meets Fraser in a district semi set for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6. The district final in the Tower grouping is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 7. All matches are at Tower.

Warren Fitzgerald, hosting a Class B district, opens the postseason with a match against Hazel Park, set for 7 p.m. Nov. 4. The winner of that match meets Ferndale University in a district semi set for 7 p.m. Nov. 6. The district final in the Fitzgerald grouping is set for 5 p.m. Nov. 8.

Center Line and Warren Lincoln will play in the same Class B district hosted by Center Line.

The Panthers and Abes both received byes through the quarterfinals. Center Line plays the winner of a Clinton Township Clintondale/Detroit Southeastern match at 5 p.m. Nov. 6. Lincoln meets either Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy or St. Clair Shores South Lake in a Class B district semi slated for 7 p.m. Nov. 6.

The district final for the Center Line grouping is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7.

Warren Michigan Collegiate will meet either Mount Clemens or the Pontiac Academy for Excellence in a Class C district semi set for 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest.

The district final for that grouping is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Lutheran Northwest.
