October 24, 2012Local football teams learn their postseason opponents

After a battling their way through the nine regular-season games, several local teams finished with six or more wins to earn an automatic berth into the postseason.
Here’s a look at which local teams are in and where they’ll be going.
Division 2
Farmington Hills Harrison won three of its final four games to get to 6-3 overall. The Hawks’ next test is at Fenton High at 7 p.m. Oct. 26. The Tigers are 8-1 and haven’t lost since the first week of the season.
On the other side of the district bracket, Farmington High travels to Walled Lake Western at 7 p.m. Oct. 26. The Falcons are 6-3 and losers of their last two contests. Western is 7-2 and winners of its last five games.
The times and dates of some of the games are still to be determined. Check the Michigan High School Athletic Association website at www.mhsaa.com or call the host school for more details.
