EAST LANSING - Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett's girls basketball team came up just short in its second consecutive bid to win the Class C state title.
The Knights fell 61-57 to Morley-Stanwood March 17 at MSU's Breslin Center.
"It just didn't happen tonight," Liggett coach Joe LaMagno said.
Senior Madison Ristovski led the Knights with 42 points. Freshman Lola Ristovski added 10 points, while junior Haleigh Ristovski led the team with seven rebounds and nine steals.
Senior Alexis Huntey led Morley-Stanwood with 27 points.
Liggett finishes the year at 22-5, while Morley-Stanwood ends up a perfect 28-0.
