It’s playoff time in volleyball, and local schools are in on the action.
Here’s a look at how each one fared in their district play and where they’re going next.
The district champs moved on to regionals, which got under way after press time. The regional finals are scheduled for Nov. 8. For more on regional showdowns, visit our website at www.candgnews.com.
Class A at Farmington High
Farmington Hills Mercy proved to be best in its district, beating Farmington in three games Nov. 2 in its district final.
On the way to the title, Mercy beat Detroit Henry Ford in three games Nov. 1 and Redford Union in three Oct. 30.
Farmington made it to the championship match after beating Detroit Mumford in three Nov. 1 and Detroit Renaissance in three Oct. 30.
Mercy played Berkley High in a regional semifinal after press time. The winner moves on to the final at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Farmington.
Class A at North Farmington
North Farmington got in on the championship action, beating White Lake Lakeland in four games Nov. 2 for the title.
En route, the Raiders beat Farmington Hills Harrison in three games Nov. 1 and Walled Lake Northern in five Oct. 30.
North Farmington played Brighton High in a regional semifinal after press time. The winner takes on either Ann Arbor Huron or Northville High for the regional championship at 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at Brighton.
