Bathers boys hoops still alive in postseason

The Mount Clemens High boys basketball team knocked off Madison Heights Bishop Foley 81-49 March 13 to win a Michigan High School Athletic Association Class C regional championship.
The Bathers (24-1 at press time) advanced to take on Detroit Consortium in a state quarterfinal played after press time.
The Bathers (23-1) knocked off Marlette High 75-39 in a Class C regional semifinal played March 10 at Bishop Foley.
To advance to the regional round, Mount Clemens bested Auburn Hills Oakland Christian to clinch a second straight Class C district title in a game played March 7 at Oakland Christian.
The Bathers had tallied 78.6 points per game in five playoff games, while allowing just 42 points in five playoff games at press time — about five points fewer per contest than they allowed in the regular season. The 78.6 total points scored in five playoff games is about four more points per game than the Bathers put up in the regular season.
