GROSSE POINTE — Macomb L'Anse Creuse North advanced to a Class A regional final after defeating Chippewa Valley 43-41 March 11 at Grosse Pointe North High School.
The first half of the game was a low-scoring affair, with Chippewa leading 16-14 heading into the third quarter. LCN coach Jay Seletsky credits the change of tempo in the second half as the key to the Crusaders' victory.
"That's all we talked about," he said. "My assistants came up with a good little run-and-jump that we haven't used in a while. I usually don't like doing those things. I like to be more structured with the zone press. They saw some things, so we changed the tempo, and it worked."
LCN will take on Detroit Southeastern in a regional final contest, scheduled for 6 p.m. March 13, also at Grosse Pointe North.
