The Women’s soccer team from Marygrove College came away with a 7-0 victory against Grace Bible College Oct. 1.
Aside from picking up a win on the field, the Mustangs also helped to raise funds for the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR). Marygrove hosted a bake sale, held a raffle, and sold gear to raise funds.
According to a release by Marygrove, the NFCR has a fundraising campaign entitled “Play4theCure,” in which sports teams across the country are invited to participate by committing to donate proceeds from at least one game to NFCR.
Although the exact figure was not known, according to Marygrove Assistant Athletic Director-Media Relations & Events Tim Johnston, the school raised “a great amount of money.”
Marygrove is also scheduled to host bake sales on-campus Oct. 3 and Oct. 5.
