Police say they now have a person of interest in the recent shooting at Southfield’s Myst Ultra Lounge that left a female patron dead.
At around 2:17 a.m. March 31, there were reports of gunshots fired at the club, located on Franklin Road, near Northwestern Highway and 12 Mile roads, according to Lt. Nick Loussia of the Southfield Police Department.
One of the bullets hit Nicole Riggs, a 33-year-old Oak Park resident, who was transported to Beaumont Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
“The investigation of this incident is ongoing and has revealed that several subjects were ejected from the club following an altercation,” Loussia said in an April 5 press release. “A short time later, an unknown person or persons fired gunshots from the parking lot into the establishment. The victim was killed by one of these gunshots.”
Police have released a photo of a person they believed was involved in the altercation with security at the club that night, Loussia explained, and is one of the subjects who was asked to leave.
Police do not have the individual’s name, but Loussia said the photo they have to hopefully identify the man was taken inside the club that night.
“This individual may have information about the shooting,” he said.
A white minivan or white conversion van has also been identified as a possible suspect vehicle from the incident, though not necessarily linked to the person in the photograph, according to Loussia.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Southfield Police Department at (248) 796-5500 or Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK UP (1-800-773-2587).
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $2,500 for information received through the (800) SPEAK UP anonymous tip line, if it leads to the felony arrest of the person or persons responsible for the crime.
