Macomb County wrestlers hit the mats for the annual county meet

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Richmond High won the Macomb County wrestling title Dec. 21-22 at Chippewa Valley.
Richmond finished with 250 points. Macomb Dakota was second with 204, while Anchor Bay (189), Warren Lincoln (133) and Romeo High (122) round out the top five.
Local wrestlers also fared well individually, taking a number of titles.
Madison Heights Lamphere's Andrew Gorman defeated Anchor Bay's Chad Medley
4-2 to take the 112-pound title.
Nick Pipes of Warren Woods Tower beat Richmond's Austin Vannatter 20-4 in
winning the 125-pound championship.
Utica Ford II grappler Tevin Machart knocked off Richmond's Austin Cattera
11-4 in the 135-pound title bout.
Dakota's Kenny Seelye bested teammate Alex Bozinovski 1-0 to claim the
145-pound title. The Cougars' Josh Burnham bested Tyler Petrone of
Roseville, 6-5, to win at 171 pounds.
At 215 pounds, Warren De La Salle's Joe Schudt knocked off East
Detroit's Vince Jordan 6-5 in the championship match.
In the heavyweight final, Lamonte Baker of Harrison Township L'Anse Creuse
outlasted St. Clair's Colton Pfaendtner, 5-2.
