BATTLE CREEK — Macomb Dakota volleyball's season ended in triumph, as the Cougars defeated Temperance Bedford 3-0 in the Class A state final at Kellogg Arena.

The Cougars won 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24 to sweep all eight of the opponetns they faced in the postseason.

"I'm just so happy they left it out there," Dakota coach Tracie Ferguson said. "Day in, day out, they worked hard. We did it."

Dakota junior Carli Snyder was happy to pick up the win for her coach.

"It feels amazing," she said. "It feels great to do this for Traci. "We're the first state champion (for) Dakota that's girls sports. It's incredible to give our school that."

Snyder had 31 kills for Dakota; teammate Megan Downey contributing 19 digs.
