ROCHESTER HILLS — Sixty-two percent of Rochester Hills voters approved a Nov. 6 ballot question for the repurposing of an expiring drain bond millage.
The expiring millage of 0.4855 mill can now be used for maintenance, repair, rehabilitation and reconstruction of local roads and streets. It can also be used to provide a source of matching funds to support special assessment and grant programs for local roads.
The proposal does not raise the overall city tax rate and will provide an estimated $1.4 million for local roads and streets. Rochester Hills’ voters case 22,821 yes votes and 13,466 no votes on the ballot question.
