The Center Line Beautification Commission will recognize the owners of three homes and three businesses at the December meeting of the Center Line City Council.

CENTER LINE — The most beautiful homes and businesses in Center Line have been selected, and the winners will be officially honored by the City Council in December.
But city officials and members of the Center Line Beautification Commission were quick to thank the owners of all of the properties nominated this summer for doing so much to improve the look of the city.
“The Beautification Commission is a fantastic group of dedicated, hardworking people that just makes Center Line look better every year,” City Manager John Michrina said last week. “The residents who all go that step beyond to make their homes, businesses and neighborhoods look so good also make Center Line the beautiful place it is to live.
“It’s just wonderful to have the Beautification Commission, and it’s wonderful to have residents and businesses who care so much about their properties that they want to make it look as good as it does,” Michrina said.
Bernadette Helkowski of the Center Line Beautification Commission said the first-, second-, and third-place-winning homes and businesses in the commission’s contest were selected from a pool of about 20 nominees.
“They were just outstanding because they were very neat and well cared for, a lot of color,” Helkowski said. “The businesses really made an effort to spruce up the business itself, to make it a little more outstanding.
“We’d like to thank everybody. The Beautification Commission has a lot of gardens throughout the city. We’re pleased to see that everybody else enjoys it and treats their properties accordingly,” Helkowski said.
Fundraisers pay for the Center Line Beautification Commission’s activities, and officials said no city money is used.
The commission is currently selling decorative front license plates as a fundraiser at City Hall for $10 each.
