FAMRINGTON HILLS — Two games. Twelve goals.
Jim Stachura can’t expect a scoring pace like that to continue too long, but he’ll take it while he can.
“We’ve got some very talented offensive players,” the Troy High boys soccer coach said after a 6-3 victory at Farmington Hills Harrison Monday night. The Colts scored six times in a season-opening victory against Groves, as well. “The potential is here to be very good offensively, but we still have some work to do.”
Troy did plenty of work Monday, as Nate Bladecki found the back of the net three times in the first five minutes of regulation.
“It was a great start,” Stachura said. “The problem is we let them back in the game.”
Harrison made it 3-2 after goals by Mushreq George and Daniel Kagan, and the one-goal differential stood until halftime.
But Troy was quick out of the gate again, getting a tally from Josh Brodbine just 3:23 into the frame to make it 4-2, and another goal by Bladecki five minutes later to make it 5-2.
Harrison pulled to within two on Karan Sabri’s goal, but Bladecki added his fifth of the night with 20:37 to play in regulation.
“The ball was finding me tonight,” Bladecki said with a smile. “It was one of my best nights of soccer.”
He has seven goals on the season.
“I liked the way the guys battled,” Harrison coach Tim Russell said. “We’re very young on the defensive end, and that showed against a team like Troy.”
Troy is now 2-0-0 on the young season, while the Hawks fall to 0-2-0.
