St. Clair Shores Police are looking for a man in connection with the robberies of two local convenience stores May 12.

Police were called to the 7-Eleven store at 27630 Little Mack Ave. at 1:55 a.m. May 12. The employee told officers that a man walked up to the register, demanded money and showed the employee a handgun. According to a press release from police, the suspect then reached behind the counter and grabbed money out of the register.

The suspect was described as a heavyset black man, 40-50 years old, who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood closed around his face, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The man left the store and headed northbound. He may have gotten into the passenger side of a dark-colored SUV.

Later that same day, around 11:49 p.m., police were called to the 7-Eleven at 32200 Harper Ave. after a man matching the same suspect description showed an employee a handgun and, again, demanded money from the register. The employee cooperated and gave money to the suspect, who left the store southbound on foot.

This time the suspect is described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood closed around his face, a leather jacket, dark sweatpants and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the St. Clair Shores Police Detective Bureau at (586) 445-5305.
