Motorcyclist dies in Harrison Twp. collision

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday after a collision with a SUV in Harrison Township, sheriff’s officials report.

According to a report released by Macomb County Sheriff Sgt. Renee Yax, at around 5:50 p.m. on Sept. 17, a 2009 Chevy Traverse was turning left from Reimold Street onto southeast Crocker Boulevard when it collided with a 1999 black Yamaha motorcycle driven by Evan Gardner, 21, of Grand Blanc.

Yax indicates in the report that Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the SUV, a 16-year-old female from Harrison Township, as well as her two passengers, were uninjured. They were released at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

As of this morning, no charges or citations had yet been filed against the driver of the SUV.
