The hallowed halls that Harper Woods High School students walked in the late 1950s looked quite a bit different than they do today, beyond the clothes and hairstyles. The old secondary school, pictured here in the late 1950s, was replaced several years ago with a new secondary school campus that is set back from the previous high school site.
Ground was broken on the new secondary school in 2005, and construction officially began in early 2006. While the new school is touted as a modern learning facility, a yearbook from 1960 stated the following about the school at that time: “The modern high school was joined by the junior high to form an impressive educational unit for Harper Woods.”
