Jogger robbed at gunpoint
Posted December 17, 2012
A 32-year-old Farms resident who was jogging eastbound on Charlevoix, near Moran, was the victim of an armed robbery at around 1:43 p.m. Dec. 13.
According to a police report, the victim was approached by two black men he described as being about 18-20 years old, both of whom were wearing black hoodies. The suspects were in front of him, and the victim said he raised a hand to wave at them. That’s when he said one of the suspects — who had short hair and was clean-cut, thin and about 6 feet tall and wearing glasses — said, “What you got on you?” as the other suspect — also clean-cut with short hair, a thin build and about 6 feet tall — brandished a black revolver. The victim gave the suspects his blue iPod 1GB Shuffle and headphones. He told police the suspects told him to run the other way, which he did. He said he saw the suspects head northbound on Moran. It was not known where they went from that point, or if they got into a vehicle.
The suspect who demanded the victim’s possessions was wearing his hood up at the time of the incident, the victim said.
According to a report on Nixle.com, police said they weren’t notified about the armed robbery until about 15 minutes after it occurred. Neither Public Safety Director Daniel Jensen nor Deputy Director John Hutchins would offer a comment at press time.
At press time, police were still looking for the suspects. Anyone with more information can call (313) 885-2100.
