The faces of members on the Grosse Pointe School Board will remain the same after voters chose to keep the incumbent candidates, but Harper Woods will have some new members with only one incumbent running for the three vacancies.
Grosse Pointe Schools voters chose to keep current board President Judy Gafa and Trustee Cindy Pangborn. Gafa took almost 40 percent of the votes and Pangborn took almost 36 percent. They beat out challenger William Broman who had about 24 percent of the votes for the two seats on the school board.
Five candidates stepped up for the three seats on the Harper Woods School Board, including incumbent Jill Quarker. Regina Williams took the most votes at more than 29 percent of the tally, followed by Tabithia Mahone with almost 21 percent and Quarker with almost 20 percent.
Mica Doakes and Shylenn Wright-Robleh lost their bids for seats with approximately 14 percent of the votes each.
