WARREN —  Warren police and FBI investigators are looking for information leading to the arrest of the two men responsible for a robbery at an Our Credit Union branch early March 9.

According to a media release from the Warren Police Department, two suspects — both described as black, 20-30 years old and 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall — entered the credit union, on 12 Mile Road just west of Mound, at 9:55 a.m., where they were recorded on surveillance video. One of the suspects, seen wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, reportedly passed a note to a teller demanding $60,000 in cash “or he was going to shoot.” A second suspect, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, reportedly stood behind the suspect and acted as a lookout.

Warren Police Capt. Robert Ahrens said the men fled on foot after the robbery with an undisclosed amount of cash. The pair was last seen near 12 Mile and Grobbel Drive. A Troy Police Department K-9 unit was dispatched to the area, where a tracking attempt was unsuccessful.

According to the release, police believe the men visited the branch the day before the robbery and inquired about opening an account.

The investigation remained ongoing as of March 12 as detectives and FBI agents sought additional evidence, surveillance video and witness statements.

Anyone with information about the robbery can reach Warren detectives assigned to the case at (586) 574-4773 or (586) 574-4881.
