GROSSE POINTE SHORES — The community is invited to the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce’s Pointe Perch Preview Party from 5:30-8 p.m. July 11 at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, 1100 Lake Shore.
The free event will give visitors a chance to see the school of giant fish sculptures created by local artists that will be swimming into the Pointes this summer. The event features — what else? — a fishbowl raffle, family activities and a chance for visitors to vote for their favorite sculpture. Food and beverages will also be sold on site. The rain date for the preview is July 12.
The sculptures will be placed at sponsoring businesses and will be auctioned off during a gala Oct. 12 at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, with the proceeds benefiting the nonprofits Services for Older Citizens and Grosse Pointe Chamber Foundation. For more information, call the GPCC at (313) 881-4722 or visit www.gpfish.net.
