A 40-year-old West Bloomfield man was unhurt when a bullet shot through the passenger window of his Ford F-150 pickup as he drove northbound on Interstate 75, north of 14 Mile, just before 11 a.m. Jan. 11.

Troy police Sgt. Meghan Lehman said the man initially thought a rock or road debris had struck his pickup truck and damaged the window.

“He went home and discovered a bullet hole in his passenger door (window),” Lehman said.

He called a family member who is a police officer in another jurisdiction who verified that the hole was from a bullet, Lehman said.

“There was some delay in the report to Troy police,” she said.

Troy police responded and verified that the damage to the window was caused by a bullet. Lehman said the man told police he had not been involved in any type of altercation or road rage incident, and police have no suspects.
