SOUTHFIELD — A 2-year-old girl fell from the window of an apartment in the 16000 block of West Nine Mile Road July 11.
Police and fire personnel were dispatched at 1:15 p.m. on a report of a child falling out of a fourth-story window. When first responders arrived, they saw the baby on the ground. She was immediately given medical attention and was transported to the hospital, where staff determined that no major injuries had been sustained.
An investigation into the incident revealed that the child was in the apartment with her mother, and while she was running around playing, she inadvertently ran toward the open window and fell out. The mother told police she just could not catch her in time.
