SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Daisy Project–MI hosted its ninth annual LO Palooza, a music festival that combines music and philanthropy, Sept. 16 at Wildwood Amphitheater, 2700 Joslyn Court in Orion Township.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Justin Wrinkle, a photographer who loves capturing life’s most precious moments and who owns Behind the Lens Photography LLC, a professional photography service, has been named the Shelby Township Featured Artist for the months of September and October.

MACOMB COUNTY — Since opening up the Center Line High School Academies in 2016, school officials have partnered with several local businesses to better prepare students for the workforce.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — At the end of August, the Shelby Township Police Department arrested a suspect in two cases in which cannabis delivery drivers were robbed while attempting to make deliveries at an apartment complex near West Utica and Ryan roads.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — For the past three seasons, Eisenhower High School boys varsity soccer has been a team that the majority of schools don’t want to play when reaching the state tournament.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Two Shelby Township police officers reportedly were injured while attempting to make an arrest in the 51000 block of Clear Spring Lane, near 23 Mile and Ryan Roads, at 10:45 p.m. Sept. 9.

UTICA — With Utica High School football on the rise and Macomb Dakota a man down after quarterback Jadon Ford suffered an injury in the team’s season opener, the Cougars faced a difficult road matchup on Aug. 31 at Swinehart Stadium.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Stevenson High School senior Andrew Bogusz, from Shelby Township, won the Must See Racing Bob Frey Classic Midwest Lights 30-lap feature event Aug. 19 at Lorain Raceway Park in South Amherst, Ohio.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP/UTICA/STERLING HEIGHTS — Sara Holden, who graduated from Utica High School and attended Jeannette Junior High and Schuchard Elementary, did theater while she was at UHS and has since taken the skills she learned even further.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Shelby Township recently celebrated its ribbon-cutting for the Heritage Lake Phase 1 project.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP —The Shelby Township Police Department will once again be hosting its annual Police Department open house event next month.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Thanks to grant funding, the Shelby Township Senior Center recently received a brand-new outdoor fitness park for local seniors to use.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A local pool contractor was arrested and charged with fraud earlier this month after allegedly not following through with his contract with a local woman who hired him to build a pool in her backyard.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — U.S. Rep. John James met with seniors and employees at the Shelby Township Senior Center Aug. 10 to discuss potential improvements to the facility that could be funded by $1.5 million in Community Project Funding that James advocated for in the U.S. House appropriations bill for fiscal year 2024 for Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and for related agencies.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 27-year-old resident of Detroit is facing a charge of carrying a concealed weapon following a traffic stop in Shelby Township during the early morning Aug. 5

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — According to a press release from the Shelby Township Police Department, a fatal traffic crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Aug. 18 in the area of Van Dyke Avenue and Elizabeth Ann Road.

MACOMB COUNTY — After 90 years and a fire, it seems nothing can topple the old Macomb County Building.
