TROY — Try new entrees at restaurants you’ve never visited or return to your favorite bistros and spend less when Troy Restaurant Week returns March 11-16.

This spring’s lineup features 20 restaurants, including Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse for the first time.

“Most feature things unique to the menu or seasonal items,” said Jessica Minnick, director of communications for the Troy Chamber of Commerce. The Troy Chamber has spearheaded the event for over 20 years.

“Troy was one of the first cities in southeast Michigan to do a restaurant week,” Minnick said. “It’s a good community event with such a variety of options and a variety of different restaurants. It’s a really nice mix of flavor. There’s something there for everybody.”

This is the second time Eddie V’s Prime Seafood has been involved in Troy Restaurant Week.

“It’s a great way to showcase the products in the restaurant, and it’s an opportunity to connect with new guests,” said managing partner Mark Flora. He said prices for the three-course menu during the promotion will start at $40, while the regular price point at the restaurant is $100 a head.

“It’s a really great way to showcase everything we’ve got to offer,” he said.

Flora said reservations are advised.

“It’s tough to get a walk-in,” he said.

North American Bancard sponsors the event. Yelp Detroit, Basso Design Group and Elefant Design & Strategy also support the event.

The event’s fixed prices for selected menu options feature three courses in most cases and range from $15 to $45. Reservations are accepted at most restaurants. Some restaurants offer both lunch and dinner options for the event. People can check out menus and make reservations at www.troyrestaurant

Diners can snap a photo of themselves enjoying their dining experience during Troy Restaurant Week in the “Oh Snap, It’s Troy Restaurant Week!” contest and submit the photo on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #OhSnapTRW18 for a chance to win a $50 gift card to one of the participating restaurants. One gift card will be awarded each day.

“It’s a really cool way to share how you’re experiencing Restaurant Week,” Minnick said.
