League: Kensington Lakes Activities Association North Division
Last season: 1-8
Opening game: 7 p.m. Aug. 28 against Howell High at home

Offense

Key player: Jake Hillenberg, senior, guard

The Knights scored 126 points last season, which was one point shy of the two previous seasons combined.

Coach Brett Moore hopes that upward trend continues, as the Knights work toward a complete team effort.

“I think that’s one of the things that we’re trying to do, change the attitude and get away from the ‘me’ attitude and preach family,” Moore said.

Special teams

Key player: Ben Cosgrove, senior, kicker

Cosgrove has shown his range already, making field goals over 50 yards in practice.

“He’s a soccer kid, so he’ll be pretty good,” Moore said.

Coach’s outlook

Despite winning just one game in the last two seasons, Moore said his kids are determined to turn the program around.

“These kids have done all that we’ve asked of them,” Moore said. “They’ve put aside individual goals. We’re a two-platoon team now, and it’s really paid off. I think there will be some teams that will be surprised.”
