League: Oakland Activities Association Blue Division
Last season: 2-7
Opening game: 7 p.m. Aug. 28 against Pontiac High at home

Offense

Key player: Jacob Carter, senior, running back

The Raiders had their best scoring outputs in their final four games last season, and coach Todd Schultz hopes that momentum continues.

North Farmington’s offense returns six starters. Carter takes on the rushing duties after seeing limited time last year.

“He’s had a great start so far,” Schultz said. “He has great vision, makes good cuts and is doing a terrific job.”

Special teams

Key player: Chris Stewart, senior, return man

Schultz isn’t looking for a punt or kick return for a score every time, but he does expect to consistently have good field position. He feels Stewart gives the Raiders a shot at achieving that goal.

“He has decent speed and decent elusiveness,” Schultz said.

Coach’s outlook

Schultz said the squad is further along now than it was at this point last year, but his team lacks depth and injuries are always a concern.

“We’re going to have to count on those backup guys when they do come in,” he said.
