TroyJune 24, 2009Police charge Troy man in Chase Bank robbery
TROY — A 42-year-old Troy man was charged with the June 22 robbery of the Chase Bank at 260 John R. Police said a man entered the bank at 11:11 a.m. June 22 and showed a note to the teller announcing a robbery. “No gun was implied, and none was seen,” said Troy Police Lt. Michael Lyczkowski. The man left the bank with the stolen cash and the note, and fled north on John R in a gold Oldsmobile Alero, according to reports. Witnesses told police that the license plate on the vehicle was covered with a piece of white paper, but they could see that it was a Michigan plate, with two numbers visible. Lyczkowski said the Troy man is also a suspect in the June 17 robbery of a Charter One Bank in West Bloomfield. He said plainclothes police from neighboring jurisdictions had the suspect under surveillance at a number of locations he was known to frequent. At 2 p.m. June 22, officers from Farmington Hills, Novi, Rochester and West Bloomfield, along with Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies, arrested the suspect at a home in Rochester. George Whittington Parolini Jr., 42, of Troy was arraigned in 52-4 District Court June 24 on one count of bank robbery. His bond is set at $175,000 cash/surety. He appeared in court without an attorney, and requested a court-appointed attorney for his arraignment, which is set for June 29. — Terry Oparka
