Two school board seats filled in Harper Woods

HARPER WOODS — Eight candidates faced off for two Harper Woods School Board seats in the May 5 election. Voters decided to keep incumbent Brian Selburn and add Tracy Purnell to the school board.

According to unofficial totals, Selburn took the highest number of votes with 354 and Purnell came in second with 257. The third-highest vote-getter trailed Purnell by 93 votes.

Purnell is filling an open seat at the table, which was created when Board Secretary Mary Paglia decided not to run for re-election.
