Bill collector tries to
exchange sex act for payment
ROSEVILLE — A bill collector for a local rental business faces criminal sexual conduct charges after he attempted to get a client to perform a sex act as bill payment.
George Edward Herron, a 43-year-old Detroit resident, faces a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charge and an aggravated indecent exposure charge following the incident involving a 21-year-old Roseville woman, according to police information.
The suspect went to the woman’s home because she was not current with her payments.
“During the course of this discussion the suspect allegedly turned the conversation to a sexual nature, offering to make the victim’s delinquent bill go away in exchange for a sex act,” police state in a press release.
The suspect tried to get the woman to touch him, but she yanked her hand away when he grabbed her hand. He ended up touching himself before leaving the woman’s home only to contact her again and request that she pay her debt to the company by completing a sex act with him.
The suspect was arraigned Nov. 4 by 39th District Court Judge Joseph Boedeker. His bond was set at $10,000, according to police information.
